About the Gateball
Born in Hokkaido in 1947 , Gateball has been spreading out very rapidly
since that birth. Passing several stages of its improvement in rules ,
it has been developed to an intellectual field sport and grew up not only
in Japan itself but also in ten several countries in the world.
Gateball fans in Japan are estimated at about 2 million
population , the fans would be over 10 million including players all over
the world.
As this overwhelming number indicates , you woud understand how Gateball is penetrating transnationally at a higt level of the growing rate for its short history.
Today , international situation has become very sever.
Under this circumstance , connperation and friendship must be the key factors for establishing the signficant and meaningful foreign relationship.
Then , Gateball , which has an eanest sporting spirits and has beenn received a very important meaning.
The roles undertaking Gateball will clearly be more significant and greater.
Gateball , which is played whenever , wherever , and with whomever possibel will be providing a linkage of the cooperation and the friendship from towns cities , from cities to prefectures , from prefectures to countries all over the world.
As it is opening all of their heart-gates and bringing them the cooperation and the friendship , Gateball will has a deeper meaning to every one of us.

Let's learn the rules at start.
1.Necessary equipment
The four types of equipment shown in the following illustation-sicks
, balls , gates , and a goalpole are all that's needed to play gateball.
Players stroke a series of numbered ball , beginning with ball No.1
, and then proceeding in order to ball No.10. The color of the balls
alternates ; the red balls bearing odd numbers , and the white balls
, even numbers.
2.Let's prepare a court
Find an area in a playground or anywhere eles , and prepare a court
as shown in picture on the upper right.

3.The game is played between a red team and a white team , each of
five members. Now , we are ready for a game.
*The game continues for 30 minutes.
*The playing order advances from No.1 to No.10 and third gates and hit
the goalpole , it is deemed to have made a successful finish and a ball's
proper completion of its course.
*When all five members of a team wins the game. If successful finishs
, the winning team is decided by the table of points won.

4.Technique (Touch & Spark)
The sparkis an import role in the game. The procedures for a spark are
as follows. - First , touch a ball -
Stroking your ball so that it contacts with another ball ( either from
your team's or the opposite team's )is called a touch. If both your
ball and inside line , you are entitled to a spark.
- How to spark a ball -
Pick up the ball that your ball touched , and step on your ball with
one foot( left foot if you are a right-handed player. ). Place the ball
up against your ball with facing it in the director you wish to move
it and stroke it so that the inpact has the touched ball moved. If the
spark is successfull , you are entitled to steoke your ball again.
- Point -
*The position where you stop your ball after touching another all.
*Where to send the ball touched by your ball , or whether or not you
should try to make the other ball an "out-of-bounds" ball.
